Odisha Likely to Be Affected by Heavy Rainfall
Two Days of Intense Rain with Thunderstorms; Yellow Alert Issued

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert predicting heavy rainfall in Odisha on May 27 and 28 due to the formation of a low-pressure area. The southern districts of the state are expected to be the most affected.
Districts such as Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri are likely to witness particularly heavy rainfall. According to the IMD, the rainfall will be accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds.
The weather department has indicated that the influence of Nor'wester conditions may persist in Odisha for the next six days. A yellow warning has been issued for 26 districts, where rainfall with lightning is expected in the coming hours.
The IMD has further stated that this rainfall may help advance the southwest monsoon towards the Kerala coast, which in turn could signify the beginning of the monsoon season in Odisha.
