Middle East Conflict Impacts Odisha

Bhubaneswar : The escalating conflict in the Middle East has now visibly impacted air travel from Odisha. Due to international airspace restrictions triggered by the ongoing war situation, IndiGo has cancelled its flights from Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi (6E 14420) and Abu Dhabi to Bhubaneswar (6E 14421).

IndiGo authorities have stated that the suspension is a precautionary measure following multiple airspace closures by several countries in the region due to the heightened risk. As a result, many passengers have been left stranded and inconvenienced by the sudden cancellations.

Notably, this international flight service had only recently been inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on June 12 at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. However, just within two weeks of its launch, the service has been forced to halt—drawing disappointment and concern among travelers.

The airline has assured that an official update regarding the resumption of the Bhubaneswar-Abu Dhabi route will be shared once the situation stabilizes.
