Odisha Govt Spent Over ₹380 Crore on Advertisements in Three Years

Bhubaneswar : The Odisha government has spent a total of ₹380.95 crore on advertisements across newspapers, electronic media, and hoardings over the last three financial years, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the Assembly on Friday. He was replying to a question raised by MLA Sofia Firdous.

Providing a year-wise breakup, the Chief Minister said that advertisement spending was the highest in 2023–24 at ₹186.60 crore. In 2022–23, the expenditure stood at ₹86.28 crore, while in 2024–25, it reached ₹108.06 crore.

The advertisements were released by the Information and Public Relations (I\&PR) Department to publicise the benefits of schemes funded by the Centre, the state government, and jointly by both. Majhi added that the costs were met from the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) budgets of different departments.
