CM Mohan Majhi Advances Major Infrastructure Projects to Ease Traffic in Bhubaneswar-Cuttack
Comprehensive Plans Include Flyovers, Elevated Corridors, Canal Roads, and Rehabilitation for Displaced Families

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed key infrastructure projects at Lok Seva Bhawan, focusing on easing traffic congestion and boosting urban development in Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Twin City.
Among the projects discussed was the elevated corridor from Jayadev Vihar to Nandankanan, aimed at reducing traffic on a crucial route. Additional plans include building a road along the Daya West Canal from Patia Station Chhak to Suanga Mouza and widening the Sundarpada-Jatni road to improve connectivity.
The government is also set to construct three flyovers at Kalpana Chhak, Museum, and Shishu Bhawan Chhak, along with an underpass at AG Chhak to further decongest busy junctions. Work is progressing on a left parallel road linking the Institute of Mathematics to Ekamra Kanan through Pathargadia, Utkal Hospital, and Rail Vihar.
Furthermore, three right access roads from Damana to Press Chhak, Kalarahanga to Barimunda, and Kelucharan Park to Barimunda will improve traffic flow. An inner ring road is also planned to enhance intra-city movement.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that these initiatives will ease traffic challenges while beautifying the cities. The meeting also resolved that about 366 families displaced by these projects will receive rehabilitation support and financial assistance.
Senior officials present included Ministers Prithviraj Harichandan and Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, and Development Commissioner Anu Garg. The government aims for smooth execution with a focus on sustainable urban growth.
