Big Boost for Odisha’s Chip Dreams: Rs 2,655 Cr Deals Signed
State inks MoUs with TopTrack and Sancode Tech; global majors show interest

Bhubaneswar : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that the state has signed MoUs worth Rs 2,655 crore with major firms for setting up semiconductor units during the SEMICON India 2025 Conclave in New Delhi.
Big Investments and Partnerships
The state sealed agreements with TopTrack Hi-Tech PCB Pvt Ltd (Rs 1,005 crore) and Sancode Tech (Rs 1,650 crore) in collaboration with Silicon Connect, Inari Amertron Berhad, and APIRC Penang. Majhi also met global majors like Intel, Micron, Western Digital, Renesas, and Siemens, marking Odisha’s entry into the global semiconductor value chain.
Upcoming Projects in Odisha
The Odisha Electronics and IT Department confirmed that SiCSem’s semiconductor plant will hold its groundbreaking in October 2025. RIR Power Electronics is also preparing to launch SiC wafer fabrication in December 2025 with packaging trials set for March 2026.
Focus on Youth Skilling
A high-value skilling centre for Odisha’s youth is also planned under the MoU with Sancode Tech and partners, while Renesas is exploring joint ventures with IIT Bhubaneswar for embedded design training.
“These partnerships will empower our youth, attract investment, and establish Odisha as a global semiconductor hub,” Majhi said.
