Odisha’s Industrial Revolution: CM Flags Off ₹1.15 Lakh Cr Projects in Jajpur

Bhubaneswar : In a major boost to Odisha’s industrial landscape, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday launched and laid the foundation for 24 major industrial projects worth ₹1.15 lakh crore in Kalinganagar, Jajpur. These projects, spread across sectors like steel, renewable energy, chemicals, and food processing, are projected to generate more than 36,000 employment opportunities.

Addressing a massive crowd of over 20,000 people, CM Majhi said, “This is not just an inauguration—it is the beginning of a self-reliant, empowered Odisha. In just 113 days, we’ve transformed commitments into concrete actions.”

Significant among the projects are Tata Steel’s ₹47,599 crore plant expansion creating 4,625 jobs, and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd’s ₹61,769 crore steel plant expansion, expected to generate 14,000 jobs. International players like Linde India, TYK Ceramics (Japan), and Almamet India (Germany) are also investing in high-tech units, reinforcing Odisha’s global industrial presence.

Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain emphasized the role of industry in building a self-sufficient state, while Minister Pradeep Bala Samanta assured that the government will continue supporting both modern industries and traditional sectors like handlooms.

These projects stem from the recent *Make in Odisha – Utkarsh Odisha 2025* conclave, highlighting the state's proactive approach and investor-friendly policies. With strong infrastructure, ports, and skilled manpower, Odisha is rapidly emerging as a strategic hub for industrial investment in eastern India.
