Bhubaneswar: The Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Odisha, in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development, inaugurated a two-day National Adoption Conference 2025 today in Puri. The event brings together policymakers, legal experts, district officials, and development partners to discuss strengthening the adoption system as a key pillar of child protection and family-based care.

Speaking as Chief Guest, Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Prabhati Parida emphasized the importance of a loving, safe, and nurturing family environment for every child’s development. She noted that adoption not only gives a child a family but also blesses the adoptive parents with the joy of parenthood. “Every child has talent, and nurturing it enriches society,” she said.

Senior officials, including Shubha Sharma (Principal Secretary, WCD), Bhavana Saxena (CEO, CARA), and Monisha Banerjee (Director, ICDS), discussed the progress and social commitment towards adoption practices in Odisha, highlighting significant advancements in recent years.
