KIIT-DU Partners with Indian Navy and Coast Guard to Support Defence Families

Bhubaneswar : In a major step toward inclusive education, KIIT Deemed to be University (KIIT-DU) has signed two MoUs with the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard, along with their respective welfare bodies — NWWA and CGWWA. These collaborations aim to provide enhanced access to higher education for the children and dependents of defence personnel.

As part of the agreements, KIIT will offer reserved seats and scholarships in medical, technical, and general courses. For Navy families, the MoU includes a 10% fee waiver for two MBBS seats, five seats each in BDS and BSc Nursing, and four in BTech (Computer Science). All non-medical programmes are open with a 50% fee scholarship.

Similarly, for Coast Guard families, two MBBS, five BDS, five BSc Nursing, and four BTech seats have been earmarked, along with 50% scholarships for other programmes.

KIIT Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta described the initiative as a tribute to India’s defence forces, reinforcing education as a tool for empowerment and national service. These MoUs reflect KIIT’s commitment to supporting those who serve the nation.
