Tragic End to Family Feud: Couple Dies by Suicide in Keonjhar
Five-month-old baby left orphaned as parents take their own lives
Bhubaneswar : In a heartbreaking incident, a young couple from Keonjhar district reportedly ended their lives over a family dispute, leaving behind their 5-month-old daughter. The deceased have been identified as Raibu Munda and his wife Gouri Munda, residents of Joginath Munda Sahi under Padmapur panchayat in Keonjhar Sadar police limits.
According to sources, the couple had a heated altercation on Friday night, following which they allegedly hanged themselves from a tree using a saree in a nearby forest area. The exact reason behind the dispute remains unclear, but it is believed to be related to ongoing family tensions.
Local police recovered the bodies early Saturday morning after being alerted by villagers. An investigation has been launched into the incident, and the minor child has been handed over to relatives.
Authorities are also coordinating with child welfare officials to ensure the safety and well-being of the orphaned infant.
