Tourist Bitten by Juvenile Crocodile at Chandrabhaga Beach

Bhubaneswar : A tourist was injured after being bitten by a juvenile crocodile while bathing in the sea at Chandrabhaga beach on Saturday. The victim sustained minor injuries and was rescued immediately.

Local horse rider Nrusinghanath Mallick rushed to the spot after hearing the tourist’s scream. He not only rescued the victim but also caught the crocodile, which was later handed over to the Konark forest department.

According to forest officials, the young crocodile might have entered the sea from a nearby river due to flooding caused by recent rains.

Following the incident, the forest department has urged tourists to remain alert while bathing at the beach, cautioning that similar cases could occur again.
