Odisha to Launch 27 Mega Industrial Projects Worth Rs 25,379 Crore
Groundbreaking ceremony to be led by CM Majhi; projects to generate over 51,000 jobs across 12 districts

Bhubaneswar : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will lay the foundation stone for 27 major industrial projects on Monday, marking a significant stride in the state’s economic and industrial landscape.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at a special event organized at Krushi Sikhsha Sadan, OUAT, in Bhubaneswar. According to Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, the projects are spread across 12 districts, including Jharsuguda, Ganjam, Khurda, Koraput, Angul, Sundargarh, Bhadrak, Puri, Cuttack, and Sambalpur.
With a combined investment of Rs 25,379.34 crore, these initiatives are projected to create employment opportunities for 51,826 people in the state. Swain emphasized that this milestone reflects Odisha’s readiness to enter a new era of industrial expansion, aligning with the government’s vision of inclusive growth and sustainable development.
“These projects are not just about economic numbers but about transforming lives and strengthening livelihoods,” Swain said, underlining the dual benefits of boosting the economy and expanding job prospects.
The state government has been actively positioning Odisha as a hub for industrial investment. Earlier this year, during the “Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025,” the state received 593 investment intents worth more than Rs 16.73 lakh crore, signaling strong investor confidence in Odisha’s business ecosystem.
By channeling large-scale investments into multiple sectors and districts, the government aims to ensure balanced regional development while reinforcing Odisha’s standing as one of India’s most attractive destinations for industry.
