Police Constable Killed, Two Critically Injured in Ganjam Accident
Speeding pickup van hits bike near Berhampur Sadar Police limits
Bhubaneswar : A police constable lost his life and two others sustained critical injuries in a road accident near Indira Awas under Berhampur Sadar Police Station limits in Ganjam district.
The deceased has been identified as Anil Nayak, who joined the Odisha Police in 2018. According to reports, a speeding pickup van rammed into a bike carrying three people, leaving all of them grievously injured.
Local residents rushed to the spot, rescued the victims, and sent them to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur via a 108 ambulance.
Despite doctors’ efforts, Constable Nayak succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The other two injured victims remain under critical care. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and efforts are underway to trace the errant driver of the pickup van.
