OMC Expands Leadership Drive with ‘LeaDHer 2025’
Programme aims to prepare women professionals for future leadership roles

Bhubaneswar : The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) on Monday rolled out ‘LeaDHer 2025’, a leadership development initiative designed to strengthen the role of women in decision-making positions within the organisation. Rooted in principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), the programme was inaugurated at OMC’s Head Office in Bhubaneswar.
Around 137 women employees from different offices and mining units participated in the programme, which focused on leadership skills, inclusivity, and resilience in challenging work environments. Senior officials including Director (HR) Alok Kumar Pal, Executive Director (P\&A) Talat Afreen (SAG), and General Manager (Personnel) Malay Ranjan Kar attended the event, urging participants to use the learnings for both personal and organisational growth.
Originally launched in 2024 as a wellness-focused initiative under OMC’s Women Wellness & DEI framework, the LeaDHer programme has now evolved into a structured leadership training platform. The 2025 edition included expert-led workshops, peer learning sessions, and interactive discussions on executive presence, influence, strategic communication, emotional intelligence, and team empowerment.
OMC officials emphasised that the initiative reflects a broader commitment to creating a workplace where women professionals are equipped to take on greater responsibilities. They also confirmed that similar sessions will be conducted across OMC’s mining regions to ensure equal participation from employees at all levels.
The move is seen as a significant step in bridging gender gaps in leadership within the mining sector, where women have traditionally been underrepresented. By empowering women to lead with confidence, OMC aims to build a progressive, future-ready organisation.
LeaDHer 2025, officials added, is expected to become a recurring platform that nurtures the next generation of leaders and sets a benchmark for other state enterprises.
