Diarrhoea Outbreak: 27 Admitted to SCB Medical; One Dead
Patients Referred from Jajpur and Surrounding Areas; Hospital Says Condition of Others is Stable

Bhubaneswar : A total of 27 patients suffering from diarrhea have been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, confirmed Registrar (Administration) Subash Chandra Ray. The patients have been referred from various areas, including Jajpur district and nearby regions, indicating a possible local outbreak.
“All patients are currently being treated in the dedicated diarrhoea ward,” said Ray. However, he also confirmed that one patient succumbed to the illness on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Basanta Barik, a resident of Sukinda in Jajpur district.
Ray further assured that all remaining patients are in stable condition and are receiving treatment as per standard medical protocols. Hospital authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
