CM Mohan Majhi Meets Tribal Delegation to Discuss Welfare and Development
Focus on holistic development, education, livelihood, and removal of social evils in tribal communities

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today held a meeting with representatives and members of the Adivasi Mahasangha, Odisha, at Lok Seva Bhawan to deliberate on key issues affecting tribal communities and explore collective solutions for their development and welfare.
The delegation submitted several proposals aimed at advancing the socio-economic upliftment of tribal populations across the state. In response, the Chief Minister assured that tribal development remains a top priority for his government.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on the welfare of the poor and marginalized, CM Majhi noted that tribal communities are among the foremost beneficiaries of several central and state schemes. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to strengthening tribal education, livelihood, and holistic development.
To ensure focused growth in tribal-dominated regions, the government is planning to establish the Northern Odisha Development Council and the Southern Odisha Development Council soon.
Majhi also encouraged the Mahasangha to actively work toward eliminating harmful social practices within tribal societies. He emphasized that sustained dialogue and cooperation would lead to effective and lasting solutions.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Development, Nityananda Gond; Nabarangpur MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi; Mahasangha President Karma Lakra; General Secretary Sarat Chandra Nayak; and members from 11 districts.
