Review Meeting on Subhadra Yojana Inclusion Today*
Deputy CM Pravati Parida seeks reports from key departments before final decision

Bhubaneswar : A high-level review meeting will be held on September 10 to decide on the possible inclusion of beneficiaries who were earlier exempted from the Subhadra Yojana, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed on Tuesday.
In preparation for the meeting, the Women and Child Development Department, under Parida’s leadership, has sought detailed reports from three major departments—Commerce & Transport, Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare, and Health. While the Commerce & Transport Department has been asked to verify applicants owning four-wheelers, the Health Department will update the list of deceased beneficiaries. Similarly, the Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Department will submit data regarding land owned by women applicants.
Parida said that decisions on extending benefits to the previously excluded applicants will be taken after considering these reports during the review.
Launched in 2024, the Subhadra Yojana has already benefitted more than one crore women in Odisha through direct cash transfer. In the first phase, Rs 5,000 was credited to the bank accounts of 25 lakh women. The second phase, disbursed on October 9, 2024, covered 39 lakh beneficiaries, followed by 20 lakh in the third phase on November 24, 2024. Another 18 lakh women received benefits in the fourth phase on February 8, 2025, while 2.30 lakh women were covered in the fifth phase on March 6, 2025, taking the total to one crore.
The state government has since continued releasing installments, with the second one credited on International Women’s Day (March 8, 2025), and the third installment disbursed on Rakhi Purnima (August 9, 2025), highlighting the government’s mission of empowering women through financial assistance.
