Odisha Safe from Flood Threat, Says Government

Bhubaneswar : Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari announced that a Doppler radar system will soon be set up in Bhubaneswar to enhance weather monitoring and forecasting in Odisha.

Balasore and Sambalpur Radars to be Operational

No Flood Threat Despite Heavy Rainfall

Rising Water Levels in Rivers Under Watch

Engineer-in-Chief of the Water Resources Department, Chandra Sekhar Padhi, said that while rivers such as the Baitarani, Budhabalanga, Jalaka, and Subarnarekha have recorded rising water levels, they are still below the danger mark. Unless there is significant additional rainfall, the chances of flooding remain low, he added.

Preparedness Measures in Place

Padhi informed that field officials have been alerted, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are in place to handle any emergency. The government has assured residents that it is closely monitoring the situation and ready to act if conditions worsen.
