Odisha Pushes for Faster Execution of Key IOCL Projects

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is ramping up efforts to accelerate major industrial projects as Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain chaired a high-level review meeting at Kharavel Bhawan, focusing on two critical Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) ventures — the Dual Feed Naphtha Cracker Plant in Paradeep and the Yarn Manufacturing Project in Bhadrak.

Describing the projects as key to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s "Purvodaya" vision, Swain urged officials to swiftly resolve land acquisition issues and obtain necessary clearances. He emphasized that timely execution would drive industrial growth and unlock large-scale employment and investment.

“These projects are milestones in Odisha’s development,” Swain said, calling for urgency and cross-departmental synergy.

Minister Suryabanshi Suraj also stressed the importance of collaboration across departments to realize the state’s long-term economic goals.

The Paradeep Naphtha Cracker Plant is expected to boost the petrochemical sector, while the Bhadrak Yarn Project will enhance the textile industry and create rural jobs.

The meeting underscored the Odisha government’s commitment to proactive governance. It included top officials from IOCL, IDCO, IPICOL, and various state departments, along with district collectors from Bhadrak and Jagatsinghpur.
