Odisha Approves Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy 2025
New initiative to boost self-reliance, create high-skilled jobs, and attract global investments

Bhubaneswar : The Odisha Cabinet approved the ‘Odisha Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy 2025’, a landmark initiative to transform the state into a major hub for electronics manufacturing. The policy, spearheaded by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is designed to reduce India’s dependence on imported components while creating thousands of high-skilled jobs.
The new framework offers investors a comprehensive package of incentives, fully aligned with the Centre’s Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). These include a 50% capital subsidy for the first ten large-scale projects, as well as options for matching subsidies, turnover-linked incentives, and additional capital support. Investors will also benefit from land allocation, rental assistance, a ten-year exemption from electricity duty, and power tariff reimbursements.
For mega projects with investments exceeding ₹500 crore or generating over 1,000 jobs, the state has introduced special concessions tailored to their requirements.
The move complements the Union Cabinet’s ECMS, approved earlier this year, which aims to strengthen domestic production of passive components such as resistors, capacitors, and inductors—vital inputs for consumer electronics, automotive, and defense industries.
By adopting this dual approach, Odisha seeks to position itself as a leading contributor to India’s “Make in India” vision, boosting local value addition and integrating with global supply chains.
