Modern LHB Coaches Rolled Out for Bhubaneswar–Junagarh Express

Bhubaneswar : The Bhubaneswar–Junagarh Road–Bhubaneswar Express (20837/20838) has been fully converted to modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches, bringing improved safety, comfort, and travel experience for passengers.

The upgraded service will begin from Bhubaneswar on August 25, 2025, and from Junagarh Road on August 26, 2025. Earlier, the train operated with a mix of one LHB rake and one conventional ICF rake. With the latest conversion, both rakes in up and down directions are now uniformly LHB-equipped.

The revised composition of the train includes two Second AC coaches, four Third AC coaches, five Sleeper Class coaches, four Second Class seating coaches, one Guard-cum-Power Car, and one Guard-cum-Second Class coach with facilities for Divyangjan passengers.

Initially, railways had announced that one rake would be upgraded to LHB from August 8, 2025. Building on this, the transition has now been completed for both, ensuring consistency in operations.

This upgrade marks a significant boost in passenger amenities and operational efficiency. The LHB coaches, known for higher speed potential, reduced derailment risk, and better riding comfort, will strengthen connectivity between Odisha’s coastal belt, tribal districts, parts of Andhra Pradesh, and the state capital, Bhubaneswar.
