Hyena Panic Returns in Mayurbhanj

Bhubaneswar : Fear has gripped Mayurbhanj district once again as a hyena created panic in two villages under Karanjia Forest Division. The animal attacked villagers in Teenitia and Tulasiposhi, leaving at least 15 people injured.

According to forest department officials, the hyena struck again early Tuesday morning, injuring two more villagers. The victims include a young man and a woman.

Both injured persons were rescued and shifted to Karanjia Medical for treatment. Doctors are monitoring their condition.

To prevent further incidents, the forest department has launched an awareness drive using loudspeakers to alert villagers. Patrolling has also been intensified with forest guard vehicles deployed in the affected areas to keep track of the hyena‘s movement.
