CM Inaugurates New Medical College and 650-Bed Hospital in Phulbani
Healthcare boost for Kandhamal and neighbouring districts

Bhubaneswar : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated a new government medical college and a 650-bed hospital in Phulbani, Kandhamal district. The 100-seat medical college aims to enhance medical education and healthcare services in the region.
Accompanied by Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling and other dignitaries, CM Majhi stated that the newly established facilities will provide better healthcare access to the people of Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Boudh, and Kalahandi districts. “Earlier, people had to travel to Cuttack or Berhampur for advanced treatment. This college and hospital will address their healthcare needs locally,” he said.
The Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to strengthening Odisha’s healthcare system by building more medical colleges and creating new posts for doctors and health workers.
Health Minister Mahaling announced that the Phulbani medical college will begin enrolling MBBS students from the current academic session. “The state aims to set up medical colleges in all 30 districts and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in every gram panchayat,” he added.
CM Majhi expressed hope that the institute will become a hub for medical research and service excellence in Odisha.
