Violent Clash Over Kewda Flower Collection in Ganjam: Over 20 Injured, 3 critical

Bhubaneswar, May 18: A major clash broke out on Saturday between two groups in Sindurapalli village under Chamakhandi police limits in Ganjam district, leaving more than 20 people injured, including three in critical condition. The conflict reportedly stemmed from a dispute over the collection of kewda flowers, a locally significant and economically valuable resource.

According to eyewitnesses, the violent confrontation lasted for about 30 minutes and involved individuals armed with knives, sickles, sticks, and other sharp weapons. The intensity of the violence caused panic in the village, prompting an urgent police response.
