15 Injured as Passenger Bus Rams Into Tanker in Cuttack
Two victims shifted to SCB Medical College in critical condition

Bhubaneswar : At least fifteen passengers were injured, two of them critically, when an ‘AMA BUS’ collided with a stationary tanker near Choudwar Chhak under Tangi police limits in Cuttack district .
The mishap occurred when the bus, en route from Choudwar to Cuttack City along National Highway 16, rammed into the tanker from behind. The force of the collision left the bus’s front portion mangled, with its bumper and windshield completely shattered.
Local residents rushed to the spot immediately after the crash, joined by Tangi police personnel who helped evacuate the injured passengers. All the victims were first admitted to Tangi Community Health Centre (CHC). However, as the condition of two passengers was critical, they were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for further treatment.
Police have started an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the collision. Preliminary findings suggest the bus driver may have failed to notice the tanker parked on the highway, but officials are also examining other possibilities, including mechanical failure or overspeeding.
