OMC MD Calls for Productivity, Safety, and Sustainability in Mines
Strategic review conducted at Gandhamardan and Daitari iron ore projects

Bhubaneswar : The Managing Director of Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd. (OMC), Sudhansu Mohan Samal, on conducted a strategic review of operations at the Gandhamardan and Daitari Iron Ore Mines in Keonjhar district. The visit emphasized enhancing production efficiency, ensuring worker safety, and strengthening sustainable mining practices.
Accompanied by Director (HR) Alok Kumar Pal, Director (Finance) Bana Bihari Pani, and senior officials, Samal inspected the Ore Stock Area, Quarry, and Control Command Centre at Gandhamardan Mines. He urged teams to boost output to meet annual dispatch targets while adhering to strict environmental norms. He also stressed upgrading digital surveillance systems for real-time monitoring and greater safety oversight.
At the Daitari Mines, Samal reviewed the Quarry, Ore Handling Plant (OHP), Baliparbat Stockyard, and Railway Siding. He called for advanced mechanisation at the OHP, efficient ore evacuation, faster rake loading, and improved logistics coordination. Directives were also issued for systematic stacking, grade segregation, and better digital tracking.
Reiterating OMC’s vision of sustainable growth, Samal urged mining teams to balance production targets with environmental responsibility, innovation, and workforce welfare to create long-term value for Odisha.
