Deogarh to be Developed as a Leading and Prosperous District: Chief Minister
CM Inaugurates Projects Worth Rs. 205 Crore, Announces Rs. 41 Crore Aid for Kendu Leaf Workers

Bhubaneswar : Making a strong pitch for regional development, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today announced that transforming Deogarh into one of the most developed and leading districts of Odisha is a top priority for his government. During his visit to Deogarh, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 15 public welfare projects worth approximately Rs. 205 crore.
Among the highlights was the inauguration of a newly built 300-bed hospital, along with 11 health-related and 4 education infrastructure projects. On the same occasion, the Chief Minister also announced financial assistance worth Rs. 41.17 crore for around 9 lakh kendu leaf pluckers, binders, and seasonal staff across the state.
The aid includes Rs. 160 for footwear, Rs. 200 for collection bags, Rs. 100 for protective headgear for workers and seasonal staff, and Rs. 700 per person for mosquito nets and blankets for binders.
The Chief Minister stated that Deogarh has immense potential for development. He emphasized that proper utilization of this potential can bring the district into the mainstream of the state's growth. He reiterated his government’s commitment to balanced development across all 30 districts of Odisha and ensuring basic facilities for the last person in society.
“Only by focusing on education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, industry, investment, and employment can we realize the dream of a prosperous Odisha,” he said, adding that the vision is to achieve a developed Odisha by 2036 and a fully developed India by 2047.
The CM also noted that his government is acting swiftly to provide basic facilities like education, healthcare, drinking water, electricity, and transportation in Deogarh. "We are working relentlessly to fulfill the promises made to the people," he said, noting that only nine days remain for the government to complete its first year in office, during which numerous development and welfare initiatives have already been undertaken.
State Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Debagarh MLA Romaanch Ranjan Biswal, District Collector Kabindra Chandra Sahu, and Chief District Medical Officer Dr. Bishwomohan Mishra were present at the event.
