CM Majhi, IT Minister to Attend Semicon India-2025
Odisha to showcase semiconductor investment potential at global conference as PM Modi inaugurates Semicon India-2025 in New Delhi.

Bhubaneswar : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Electronics & Information Technology Minister Mukesh Mahaling will attend the prestigious Semicon India-2025 conference in New Delhi beginning September 2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the three-day event at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, at 10 am on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister will also take part in the CEOs’ roundtable on September 3, where top global leaders from the semiconductor industry are expected to join. The conference will deliberate on building a robust and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem in India.
Key sessions will cover the progress of the Semicon India Programme, semiconductor fabrication, advanced packaging projects, smart manufacturing, R\&D in artificial intelligence, and state-level policy implementation. The event will also highlight the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, startup growth, and international collaborations.
More than 20,750 participants, including 2,500 delegates from 48 countries, 150 speakers, 50 global leaders, and over 350 exhibitors will join. The event will feature country pavilions, roundtable discussions with six nations, and dedicated zones for workforce development and start-ups.
The Union Cabinet recently approved two major semiconductor manufacturing units worth over Rs 4,000 crore in Odisha’s Info Valley, which are expected to generate thousands of high-skilled jobs. The state government had earlier introduced the Odisha Semiconductor Manufacturing and Fabless Policy to attract investors.
“At the three-day conference in New Delhi, we will hold discussions with all stakeholders to attract semiconductor investments in Odisha. We will also thank the Prime Minister for approving two major manufacturing units in the state,” said Minister Mukesh Mahaling.
