Woman Found Hanging Inside Temple in Balasore

Bhubaneswar : Balasore witnessed a shocking incident today after a 26-year-old woman was found hanging inside a temple under mysterious circumstances.

The deceased has been identified as Sushree Sangeeta, the youngest daughter of Govind Chandra Mallick of Bahanaga area. Her body was discovered in a closed room on the premises of Laxminarayan temple, located near National Highway-16 at Patharapentha panchayat under Bahanaga block.

According to reports, Sushree had left home on her scooter in the morning to purchase vegetables and groceries. When she did not return by noon and remained unreachable over the phone, her family began searching for her. They later found her scooter parked near the temple and subsequently discovered her hanging from a ceiling fan inside a locked room on the temple premises.

On being alerted, a team from Soro police station reached the spot and launched an inquiry into the case. Meanwhile, the family alleged that Sushree may have been murdered and that her body was staged to make it appear as a suicide. The investigation is ongoing.
