School Headmistress Electrocuted to Death in Sambalpur Village

Bhubaneswar: a tragic and shocking incident, Anita Purohit, the Headmistress of Batagaon Higher Secondary School, lost her life due to electrocution in Bhalugudia village of Batagaon Gram Panchayat under Nakatideula block, Sambalpur district.

The incident occurred when Anita Purohit switched on the motor at her home to pump water. Reports suggest that she came into contact with an electric current while operating the motor, which resulted in a fatal electric shock. Her husband, Santosh Purohit, immediately rushed to her aid and suffered injuries in the process.

Both Anita and Santosh were swiftly taken to the Nakatideula hospital for emergency treatment. Despite the doctors’ efforts, Anita succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, while her husband continues to receive medical care.

The sudden and untimely death of the respected headmistress has left the local community in deep sorrow. Known for her dedication to education and service, Anita’s passing has cast a shadow of grief over the entire village.
