Odisha to Add Left-Out Beneficiaries to Subhadra Scheme
Deputy CM Pravati Parida Assures Inclusion After Verification

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that eligible women who were previously excluded from the Subhadra scheme will soon receive financial support. The assurance came after a review meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan, where officials examined reasons behind the exclusion of genuine beneficiaries.
Parida admitted that several women had been deprived of benefits due to technical issues such as ration card mismatches, incomplete KYC updates, and other discrepancies. “We are ensuring that no genuine beneficiary remains left out. Necessary corrections are being made after verification,” she said.
Ahead of the meeting, the Women and Child Development Department had sought reports from three key departments. The Commerce and Transport Department was asked to identify women owning four-wheelers, the Health Department was tasked with verifying deceased beneficiaries, and the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department examined land records of women who had sold paddy.
Based on these reports, the review meeting discussed corrective measures to extend Subhadra benefits to deserving women who had been excluded earlier. Parida further assured that once the verification process is completed, the deprived beneficiaries will be formally added to the scheme.
The Subhadra scheme, one of the state government’s flagship initiatives, aims at women’s empowerment through direct financial assistance. With today’s announcement, the government has signaled its intent to make the scheme more inclusive and accessible.
