Odisha Government to Launch Jan Poshan Kendras in Every Panchayat

Bhubaneswar : The Odisha government is set to open Jan Poshan Kendras in every panchayat across the state to provide essential commodities at subsidized rates. These centers will offer food items such as rice, wheat flour, sugar, salt, and pulses, specifically targeting middle-income and economically vulnerable sections of society. This announcement was made by Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Friday.

The primary objective of this initiative is to make essential food items affordable and accessible to a broader segment of the population. Initially, five Jan Poshan Kendras will be established to assess operational challenges and gauge public response. Following this evaluation, the model will be expanded to all panchayats across the state. 

To ensure transparency and targeted benefits, guidelines are currently being prepared for the effective implementation of this program.
