Odisha Celebrates a Year of Transformation Under BJP Rule
Chief Minister Majhi Highlights Achievements in Social, Economic, and Infrastructure Development

Bhubaneswar : Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today lauded the significant progress made in Odisha since the BJP assumed power a year ago. Speaking at an anniversary event, Majhi emphasized the transformative impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership on the state's social, political, and economic landscape.
Majhi highlighted key initiatives launched during the first cabinet meeting, including the Subhadra Yojana, an increase of rs 800 per quintal in rice procurement price, the opening of Srimandir's four temple gateways, and the creation of a rs 500 crore corpus fund.
The Chief Minister also pointed to the empowerment of women through the creation of 1.7 million "lakhpati didis," record agricultural investments of rs 37,838 crore, the development of model schools, expanded Ayushman Yojana coverage, infrastructure funding of rs 65,102 crore, and rs 68,881 crore allocated for tribal and scheduled caste welfare.
Looking forward, Majhi outlined ambitious goals for Odisha, including providing piped drinking water to 90% of the population and constructing 500,000 homes under Antyodaya by 2026. He also noted the creation of 28,000 government jobs in the past year, with plans for an additional 40,000 this year, alongside major infrastructure improvements in railways, national highways, and aviation.
By 2036, Odisha aims to be among India's top 5 most prosperous states, building a \$500 billion economy. By 2047, the state intends to significantly contribute to building a "developed India," as envisioned by PM Modi. Majhi reaffirmed his government's dedication to inclusive development, aligned with Modi's mantra of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas," focusing on the upliftment of the poor, farmers, youth, and women.
