Non-Student Found Dead on Utkal University Campus

Bhubaneswar : A youth identified as Biswa, employed as a driver for a BJD youth leader, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Utkal University’s Vani Vihar campus today. Though not enrolled at the university, he allegedly fell from the roof of Boys’ Hostel No. 3.

Police recovered his blood-stained body early morning and sent it for post-mortem at Capital Hospital. The incident triggered outrage among students and ABVP members, who questioned why hostel rooms were allotted to non-students while many students lacked accommodation.

ABVP National Executive Member Biswajit Patra accused the administration of negligence, citing rising drug peddling and outsider involvement on campus. They demanded identification of those responsible for allotting the room and warned of intensified protests if swift action was not taken.
