Minor Girl With Severe Burns Dies in Odisha
Police investigate whether it was murder or self-immolation
Bhubaneswar : A minor girl, who sustained critical burn injuries in Bargarh district earlier today, succumbed to her wounds while undergoing treatment at VIMSAR, Burla. She was rescued in a half-burnt state from a football field in Phiringimal village under Gaisilet police limits this morning and rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.
Police are probing whether she was set ablaze or if it was a case of self-immolation. Three investigation teams have been formed, and Balangir SP—also in charge of Bargarh—visited the hospital to oversee the inquiry.
The incident has sparked shock and concern in the region as authorities work to uncover the truth behind the tragic death.
