OSSSC Postpones Sevak, Sevika & TLT Exams Scheduled for July 17

Bhubaneswar : The Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has postponed the preliminary recruitment exams for the posts of Sevak, Sevika, and Tribal Language Teacher (TLT), which were scheduled for July 17, 2025. The decision comes in light of the statewide bandh called by the Congress party over the tragic death of a student from Fakir Mohan College.

In an official notification, OSSSC confirmed that only the July 17 examination has been deferred and that a revised date will be announced soon. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the OSSSC website for further updates.

The Commission, through Notice No. 1333/OSSSC dated June 17, had earlier announced the examination schedule. However, to ensure candidate safety and avoid disruptions due to the bandh, authorities decided to reschedule the affected exam. Exams on July 18, 19, 21, and 23 will be conducted as planned.

The bandh was called following the death of 20-year-old Soumyashree, who self-immolated after allegedly being denied justice in a sexual harassment complaint against her college’s HoD. Her death has sparked statewide outrage, prompting political action and institutional response.
