College Student Killed in Puri After Fire Services Truck Hits Bike
Victim Swayam Subham Senapati was returning home from college when the mishap occurred near Tulasi Chaura Chhaka
Bhubaneswar : In a heartbreaking incident, a college student lost his life after being hit by a Fire Services truck in Odisha’s Puri district on Monday. The accident occurred near Tulasi Chaura Chhaka on the Puri-Bhubaneswar National Highway.
The deceased has been identified as Swayam Subham Senapati, a third-year Science student at SCS College, Puri.
According to reports, Swayam was returning home on his bike after attending college when a Fire Services truck, reportedly traveling on the wrong side of the road, rammed into his two-wheeler. The impact left the student critically injured.
A highway patrol unit of the Odisha Police promptly arrived at the scene and rushed the injured student to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, and the circumstances surrounding the alleged negligence are being looked into.
