Fire Breaks Out at Biscuit Factory in Cuttack, No Casualties Reported
Blaze damages property; short circuit suspected as cause
Bhubaneswar, May 18: A massive fire broke out at a biscuit factory in the Jagatpur Industrial Area of Cuttack on Saturday, causing significant property damage. Fortunately, no loss of life was reported in the incident.
According to Assistant Fire Officer Sanjiv Kumar Behera, the fire is suspected to have been triggered by a short circuit inside the factory premises. "The flames engulfed a large portion of the unit, damaging equipment and stock, but all workers were safely evacuated in time," Behera informed.
Three fire brigade teams from Chauliaganj and Cuttack fire stations were rushed to the spot and engaged in a rigorous firefighting operation. After several hours of effort, the fire was successfully brought under control.
Authorities have launched an investigation to assess the extent of the damage and confirm the exact cause of the fire.
