Four Fishermen Rescued After Being Stranded at Sea for Two Days

Bhubaneswar : Four fishermen from Chudamani in Bhadrak district were rescued after being stranded in the sea for two days following a boat mishap.

The fishermen had set out for fishing on August 24 when a sudden storm capsized their boat. Clinging to the wreckage, they drifted in the open sea before being spotted near the Banigachha coast.

On August 27, the boat owner received information about their plight and immediately coordinated with local boats to carry out a rescue. The fishermen were brought ashore in an ailing condition and shifted to Basudebpur Community Health Centre by ambulance for urgent treatment.

The rescued fishermen have been identified as Prakash Malik (34), Pabana Malik (56), Bana Malik (27), and Sapan Malik (70). Doctors said their health had deteriorated due to prolonged exposure at sea but they are now under stable care.
