Another Tribal Woman Gangraped in Odisha’s Angul District
Three labourers accused; incident adds to growing concerns over women's safety

Bhubaneswar : In a disturbing incident, a tribal woman was allegedly gangraped by three labourers near Baraamancha village in Odisha’s Angul district. The assault occurred on Sunday evening but came to light after the woman filed a police complaint.
Reports say the survivor, a resident of Pallahara town, had visited Chhendipada hospital and was heading to a relative’s home with her nephew when the attack happened. She approached the local police, leading to the registration of a case and the launch of an investigation by Bagadia police.
This is the second shocking case from Angul in recent months. In May, police arrested an autorickshaw driver, Bisu Gochhayat, for raping and murdering a 25-year-old woman from Maharashtra. He had confessed to the crime, which took place near Kendupalli village.
Both incidents have raised serious concerns about the safety of women, especially in vulnerable and remote regions of the state.
