Woman Found Dead at In-Laws’ House in Balasore

Bhubaneswar : A woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her in-laws’ residence in Belapur village under Soro police station limits on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Bhagyabati Behera, wife of Army officer Umakant Behera. The couple had been married for five years.

According to reports, Bhagyabati was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her bedroom. She was rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Soro by family members, but doctors declared her brought dead.

Soon after the incident, Bhagyabati’s parents lodged a formal complaint with the police, alleging that she was murdered by her in-laws.

Acting on the complaint, police reached the hospital, sent the body for post-mortem examination, and began an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of death.
