Major Police Reshuffle in Odisha Announced
Home Department issues transfer order for senior officers across key positions

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has implemented a significant reshuffle in the police force, transferring and reassigning several senior officers to new roles. A notification issued by the Home Department outlined the changes, affecting postings in the Commissionerate, State Police Headquarters, Vigilance, and other key wings.
According to the order, Bimalendu Satapathy, DCP of the Police Commissionerate, has been transferred as SP, Police Headquarters. Kishore Chandra Mund and Anup Kumar Kanungo, both serving as in-situ Additional DCPs in the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Commissionerate, have been promoted to DCPs.
Other notable changes include Srikanta Kumar Behera’s posting as SP, Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Bhubaneswar; Surendra Nath Rayaguru and Anand Bardhan Guru as SPs at the State Police Headquarters; and Tapan Narayan Rath as AIG of Police, SP Headquarters, Cuttack.
In Vigilance, Satyaban Mahananda has been elevated as SP, while Debashis Dhal takes charge as SP, Special Branch. Prava Sankar Nayak and Debadutta Kar will now serve at the State Police Headquarters, while Satyajit Mishra has been appointed AIG of Police, Marine and Coastal Security.
Officials said the reshuffle is part of routine administrative exercise to strengthen law enforcement efficiency in the state.
