Lightning Strike Claims Life in Nuapada, Another Critical
Man dies on the spot while his relative battles for life after tragedy during heavy rains in Boden block
Bhubaneswar : In a tragic incident, one person lost his life and another was critically injured after being struck by lightning in Boden block of Nuapada district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Parsuram Satanami of Durkamunda village. His relative, 45-year-old Lobha Satnami, is currently undergoing treatment in critical condition.
According to reports, both Parsuram and Lobha were heading to their farmland for agricultural work when heavy rains began. As the downpour intensified, they sought shelter under a tree. Moments later, lightning struck the area, killing Parsuram instantly and leaving Lobha severely injured.
Local villagers immediately rushed the duo to the Khariar Sub-Health Centre. While doctors declared Parsuram dead on arrival, Lobha was shifted to the Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital for advanced treatment due to her critical condition.
Police officials confirmed that the body of the deceased will be handed over to the family members after completion of the postmortem formalities.
