Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to enhance the safety and convenience of women devotees, Puri Police has launched a ‘Pink Help Desk’ at the Shri Jagannath Temple in Puri. The new help desk was inaugurated by Superintendent of Police Vineet Agrawal and will be managed by six specially appointed female constables.
The Pink Help Desk aims to provide immediate assistance to women facing any kind of trouble during their visit to the temple. The female constables will offer friendly and professional support and can coordinate with the police station or PCR if needed. This initiative is designed to create a safer and more welcoming environment for women devotees visiting one of India’s most revered temples.
Thousands of devotees, including a large number of women, visit the temple every day. The Pink Help Desk is expected to ensure a smoother, secure experience and help address any grievances or concerns on the spot.
