913 New Anganwadi Centres Inaugurated Across Odisha
Deputy CM Pravati Parida leads state-wide launch to strengthen child and maternal care

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Tuesday inaugurated 913 newly constructed Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) across all 30 districts of the state, marking a major step in expanding child and maternal health services.
Kalahandi Tops the List with 90 Centres
Kalahandi district recorded the highest number of new AWCs at 90, followed by Balasore (77), Ganjam (72), Puri (68), Khordha (61), and Nayagarh (56). These centres are expected to enhance access to nutrition and early childhood education in underserved areas.

The district-wise distribution of the newly launched AWCs is as follows: Angul (35), Balasore (77), Bargarh (44), Bhadrak (34), Balangir (23), Boudh (11), Cuttack (26), Deogarh (5), Dhenkanal (18), Gajapati (14), Ganjam (72), Jagatsinghpur (37), Jajpur (19), Jharsuguda (18), Kalahandi (90), Kandhamal (22), Kendrapara (17), Keonjhar (18), Khordha (61), Koraput (34), Malkangiri (8), Mayurbhanj (7), Nabarangpur (26), Nayagarh (56), Nuapada (10), Puri (68), Rayagada (18), Sambalpur (12), Sonepur (16), and Sundargarh (17).
New centres to support women and children across the state
Officials said the initiative will provide better infrastructure for implementing nutrition schemes, health awareness programmes, and preschool education. The government aims to ensure no child or mother is left behind in receiving essential care.
