Two Killed, Seven Injured in Tragic Road Accident in Boudh

Bhubaneswar : In a tragic road accident late Tuesday night, two people were killed and seven others sustained injuries following a head-on collision between two motorcycles near Gaundisar village under Model Police Station in Odisha’s Boudh district.

The deceased have been identified as Gajendra Mallick and his daughter Lipsa Mallick, who were returning home after attending a wedding in a nearby village. The accident occurred when their two-wheeler collided with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, resulting in a devastating impact.

Local police officials from the Model Police Station rushed to the site upon receiving information and began an investigation into the incident. The injured were immediately taken to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Boudh, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination.

Reacting to the tragedy, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved family. He also announced an ex-gratia of rs.4 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). Additionally, the Chief Minister extended his wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The accident has cast a shadow of grief over the local community, with many expressing shock over the loss of lives and calling for enhanced road safety measures in the region.
